How LinkedIn Overlays UI on Your Ad
Feed Formats (Square, Portrait, Landscape Image)
LinkedIn feed ads use roughly 10% margins. The "Promoted" badge and company logo sit in the header above the image, so including your logo inside the creative is often redundant. Landscape 1.91:1 is LinkedIn's recommended format for image ads and renders well on desktop, while square 1:1 is better for mobile-heavy campaigns.
These three feed formats share the same safe zone proportions. Landscape video has its own specs below.
Landscape Video (16:9)
LinkedIn video ads overlay a progress bar, mute button, and fullscreen icon during playback. The bottom danger zone is around 10% to account for the scrubber bar. The progress bar shows on hover (desktop) or always (mobile), so design for the always-visible state.
Stories (9:16)
LinkedIn Stories use the same 1080x1920 canvas with 13% top and 13% bottom danger zones, similar to Instagram Stories. Less commonly used than feed placements, but worth testing for brand campaigns.
