X has the most forgiving feed safe zones of any major platform. The engagement row sits below the image, not on it.

X (Twitter) Ad Overlays: What Gets Covered
Feed Formats (Square, Portrait, Landscape)
X feed ads are nearly free from UI overlay - the profile row and "Ad" label sit above the image, the reply/repost/like row sits below. On mobile there's a slight bottom overlap in scroll view, so design with ~8% top and ~12% bottom margins to cover all rendering contexts.
Feed Square, Portrait, and Landscape share the same proportional safe zone on X.
Stories (9:16)
X Stories use the standard 9:16 canvas with ~12% top and ~20% bottom danger zones. Less commonly used than feed, but the same principles apply - keep key content out of those margins and test with the overlay before publishing.
