What Facebook's UI Overlaps on Your Ad
Feed Formats (Square, Portrait, Landscape)
Facebook feed ads use a 10% buffer on all sides (108px at 1080px wide), identical to Instagram. The page name, "Sponsored" badge, and reaction row all sit outside the image card. Avoid putting a CTA in the bottom of your image - it competes with Facebook's own CTA button rendered below the creative.
Feed Square, Portrait, and Landscape all share the same proportional safe zone -the template is identical across formats.
Stories (9:16)
Facebook Stories use the same safe zone as Instagram Stories - 250px top (13%) and 250px bottom (13%). The top is the account name + "Sponsored" label, the bottom is the swipe/tap CTA zone. Stories compete in a separate auction from feed inventory, so they can be surprisingly cost-effective.
Reels (9:16)
Facebook Reels use the same zones as Instagram Reels - 250px top (13%) and 450px bottom (23.4%), plus a right-side action button cutout. If your Story creative has a price or CTA in the bottom 20-25%, check it against the 23.4% cutoff before enabling Reels.
