Most agent connections finish in under a minute. When one doesn't — or a connection that used to work stops — it's almost always one of the causes below. Work through them in order; each takes under a minute to check.
Installing AdKit once doesn't turn it on everywhere. In Claude, connectors are enabled per conversation: click + → Connectors and check that AdKit is switched on. In ChatGPT, the app must be selected for the current chat.
Fix: enable AdKit in the conversation, then ask your agent to try again.
If you installed AdKit in one workspace (or while logged into one account) and are now chatting in another, the connector isn't there.
Fix: switch to the workspace where you installed AdKit, or install it again in the one you're using.
On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, custom connectors must be approved by a workspace admin before anyone can use them. Until that happens, setup looks fine but the connection never completes.
Fix: ask your admin to add the AdKit connector from the workspace admin settings. Send them this page or the Claude setup guide.
An AdKit connection that goes unused for 30 days expires automatically. The agent still shows the connector, but calls stop working.
Fix: run the setup again from Dashboard → Connect Your Agent. It takes a minute and replaces the expired authorization.
Agents sometimes cache a broken connection inside a long-running conversation.
Fix: start a new chat and try again. This resolves a surprising number of "it stopped working" cases.
If none of the above helped, reset the connection:
Use the Chat with us button in the dashboard — a human will look at it with you. Telling us which agent you're connecting and what the last step you completed was makes it faster.
